ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37 (Biometrics)
ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 37 Biometrics is a standardisation subcommittee in the Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1 of the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which develops and facilitates standards within the field of biometrics.
As a regular participant at ISO SC37 meetings, Westbourne has visibility over all current and developing ISO Biometric standards, where Westbourne typically contributes to technical and format based standards.
The Unfamiliar Facial Identification Group (UFIG) was established at the 2015 Unfamiliar Face Matching Research meeting. This is a collaborative network of academics and practitioners focused on improving accuracy of unfamiliar face identification.
Westbourne regularly participates in this community through presenting at the annual meeting and providing technical support to research members.
The Biometrics Institute was founded in July 2001 responding to an industry need for an independent and impartial international forum for the sharing of knowledge and information about biometrics and to provide best-practice guidance around the responsible use of biometrics. It represents 222 organisation (close to 1000 individuals) from 27 different countries.
